30 Poems in 30 Days - Day 10

Today’s Assignment: The Good, the Bad, and the Meter-
Write a three or more stanza poem that uses a metered style for the first two stanzas and a non-metered format for the remaining stanzas. As always, feel free to post your poem in the comments section for others to see.

NOT ONE IN YOUR IMAGE

Not one in your image was
I created to follow you
where you lead, to obey your
every word. That is not me!

Not in your image was
I molded to bow to your
hand raised in anger at me
when you needed to control.

I am stronger than you could ever understand,
and you are weak in your need to
destroy all the goodness life gives you
because you believe you are the god

of all that surrounds you and all
must bow to you or you will banish
them. And now you are alone in your
world. In the end we all left.

There is no one left to bully
no one left to strike down with your
mighty fist. We left because we were
not one in your image.
